Our church is here to help you take the first steps on your spiritual journey.
“For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” - Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)
We are made right with God by believing what Jesus Christ did for us through His death and resurrection. Jesus’ sacrifice restored us to a personal, life-giving relationship with God Himself! We must choose to enter into this relationship by believing in Christ and giving Him the place of leadership in our lives. A relationship with Jesus is not just a commitment to “try to be a better person.” This is a realization that we need a Savior—and we place our faith in Jesus as our Savior and Leader. When we do, we can begin to enjoy a lifelong relationship with our Creator and begin to live the life He intended for us. Through Jesus, our new life starts now... and will continue for all eternity.
"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:1-4 (ESV)
In baptism, we publicly identify with what Christ did for us on the cross. God buries our old life and empowers us to begin a new life of following Jesus.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
“Peter replied, ‘Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” Acts 2:38 (NLT)
“I baptize with water those who turn from their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is far greater than I am...He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” Matthew 3:11 (NLT)
When you become a follower of Christ, God wants to empower you through His Holy Spirit and give you spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit manifests God’s character through us in both the fruits of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, etc) and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (healing, prophecy, tongues, etc). As His representatives on Earth, we need to develop both.
On the Growth Track, you will spend four Sundays diving into what it looks like to know God, experience freedom, discover your purpose and then make a difference with your life.
