Croatia: May 20th - June 5th, 2018

Scroll over each area of Croatia to see what the team will be doing.

Croatia (Hrvatska), officially the Republic of Croatia (Republika Hrvatska) is situated in South-Eastern Europe at the crossroads of the Adriatic Sea and the Pannonian Plain.

Croatia borders with Hungary in the north, Slovenia in the north-west, Serbia in the north-east, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the total length of the lower part of the Croatia’s crescent shape, Montenegro in the extreme south, and Italy and Slovenia on the Adriatic Sea.

Croatia is classified as an open and developing economy by the International Monetary Fund and a high income economy by the World Bank. Traditionally, Croatia is a tourism oriented country.

While Croatia's main religion is Christianity, only 0.4% of the entire population are considered to be Evangelical/Protestant, which means " to emphasize salvation by faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ through personal conversion, the authority of Scripture, and the importance of preaching as contrasted with ritual" (Merriam-Webster's Dictionary).

On this trip, the Harvest Equippers team will be partnering with a missions team from Dwelling Place Christian Fellowship of Blacksburg, VA. Together, they will be ministering with Word of Life Church in Croatia.

The network of churches “Riječ Života” (“Word of Life”) is a religious congregation in the Republic of Croatia, that began its activity in Zagreb in 1993, and today includes 15 Christian centres and mission stations around Croatia. It is a church of reformation heritage which acknowledges the Bible as the supreme authority. Its founder and pastor is Damir Šićko Alić.

Their sermons consist of joyful and powerful praising with songs, dynamic preaching and prayer, and serving people, all of which have changed lives of many. No one is surprised that healings, deliverances and different miracles happen on a regular basis because these are the signs with which God accompanies honest and uncompromising preaching of His Word.

The ultimate goals for this trip are to assist Word of Life Church with planned outreaches in their campus' communities, and to foster relationships with local pastors/leaders for future trips.
